Our ingredients

To make our food, we dry 10.6 kg of meat for a 12 kg bag so that it can be better processed into our pellets. With the right proportion of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog uses meat from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is rich in vitamins and minerals. This tender meat has lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, making it very beneficial for your health.

At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together give the food a delicious taste and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, algae, etc. has a tradition that goes back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Each ingredient that we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. The ingredients are highlighted depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group. Breed-related ailments can be alleviated by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

Tosa-specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Tosa. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Tosa belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients were selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Tosa.

Parsley

Parsley is a biennial, hardy, herbaceous plant in the Apiaceae family. Parsley has been used as a medicinal herb for hundreds of years. There are dozens of diseases that parsley fights. According to various sources, it cures diarrhea, anemia and ear infections, among others. It contains more iron than, for example, spinach. Parsley also contains other minerals such as silicon, as well as vitamins B and C and carotene.

At Yourdog, we add parsley to dog food because it could make a positive contribution to the prevention of breed-specific problems related to blood, heart and kidneys.

Parsley is a natural source of vitamins C, A and K. This can have an effect on the immune system and eyes, but also on the cardiovascular system and liver. Parsley also has anti-inflammatory properties and can act as a diuretic, keeping the dog's bladder free of impurities.

Celery is a plant from the Apiaceae family. The plant is often found on moist soil along the coast.

Celery is rich in vitamins A, C and K, but also contains a lot of folate and potassium. In addition, celery is fat-free, high in fiber and very low in calories.

We add celery to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to supporting the dog's immune system and digestive system. It can also have a positive effect on skin and coat, muscle and nerve function through vitamin A, and the maintenance of strong bones through vitamin K.

blueberry

Blueberries belong to the heather family and grow mainly in open forests in the Northern Hemisphere. The plant has long been used in traditional European medicine and is said to have positive effects on gastrointestinal disorders and diabetes.

Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals. They also contain good fiber for digestion and are rich in vitamins C and K. It can support the immune system and contribute to the dog's overall health.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To make the right choice between our Tosa dog foods, you can follow the guidelines below. If your Tosa is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Tosa older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Tosa senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

conversion instructions

If you are switching to Yourdog from another brand of food, we recommend the following steps. As a first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to it for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old food. It is important that you let the dog get used to it again for two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. You can then give 100% Yourdog. After 100% of the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food in the tub one by one, but to put it in the tub with the whole bag, closing it as well as possible.
