To make our food, we dry 10.6 kg of meat in a 12 kg bag so that it is easier to process into our chunks. With the right proportion of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog uses meat from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is rich in vitamins and minerals. This tender meat has lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, making it very beneficial for health.

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the German Wirehaired Pointer. glucosamine
Glucosamine is a substance produced naturally in the body and found in joints, cartilage, synovial fluid and tendons. Glucosamine stimulates cartilage production and keeps the joints supple.
Glucosamine is one of the most commonly used supplements for dogs with osteoarthritis and/or joint problems. This is not only the case for older or (too) heavy dogs, but increasingly also for younger, very agile dogs. For example, due to an inherited predisposition to joint problems. For these and other reasons, glucosamine is added to our dog food.
chondroitin
Chondroitin occurs naturally in the dog's body and is one of the main components of cartilage tissue. In dogs, chondroitin is able to attract and bind moisture, which should lead to a spongy suspension of the cartilage.
Chondroitin improves the flexibility of the cartilage and also has a pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effect. It also stimulates the production of the building blocks that ensure healthy cartilage.
When chondroitin is administered in combination with glucosamine, it supports and enhances the effects of glucosamine. It is therefore often administered as a dietary supplement for people and animals suffering from osteoarthritis.
blueberry
Blueberries belong to the heather family and grow mainly in open forests in the Northern Hemisphere. The plant has long been used in traditional European medicine and is said to have positive effects on gastrointestinal disorders and diabetes.
Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals. They also contain good fiber for digestion and are rich in vitamins C and K. It can support the immune system and contribute to the dog's overall health.
Puppy, adult or senior?
To make the right choice between our varieties of German Wirehaired Pointer dog food, you can use the following guidelines. If your German Wirehaired Pointer is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a German Wirehaired Pointer that is older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog German Wirehaired Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

If you are switching from another brand of food to Yourdog, we recommend the following steps. As a first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to it for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old food. It is important that you let the dog get used to it again for two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After that, you can give 100% Yourdog. The food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food in the tub one by one, but to put it in the tub with the whole bag, closing it as well as possible.
